Storz for Layflat Hose

Standard Storz fittings but with a hose tail and segmented clamp specifically designed for use with layflat hose. Commonly used for agricultural drag and slurry hoses. The aluminium Storz fitting is manufactured from a forging for strength; the segmented clamp is a rugged heavy aluminium casting with 3 segments and is supplied complete with nuts and bolts.

The segmented binding provides at least as much clamping force as banding or other forms of bolt clamps; they have a much better profile than bolt clamps and when used with Storz fittings offer a much better solution in the large sizes than Bauer type fittings.

If you are not sure of the Storz size, measure the inside diameter of the lugs on the coupling face. This diameter is called the KA diameter and it will correspond to one of those mentioned above. There are no male and /or female halves with Storz fittings, they are hermaphrodite where both halves are identical.

The inner profile of the clamp corresponds to that of the hosetail. Therefore care should be taken during assembly to ensure that the clamp is fitted round the right way (see photo above) and that the clamp is hard up against the back of the Storz coupling.

The segments of the clamp should have an equal gap between them. Do not tighten all three segments together leaving only one large gap.

The segments of the clamps are solid and it is therefore critical that they are used with hose of the correct wall thickness. The wall thicknesses shown above only have a very small tolerance. The thickness mentioned is the measured on the main hose wall; it is not measured over any raised ribs or pattern.
